碩士 / 國立屏東科技大學 / 環境工程與科學系所 / 100 / The sludge from the biological treatment of photoelectric industry wastewater is usually odorous, because of the presence of nitrogen- and sulfur-containing compounds such as tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide ((CH3)4NOH, TMAH), dimethyl sulfoxide ((CH3)2SO, DMSO), and monoethanolamine (C2H5ONH2, MEA) in the wastewater . This study investigates the characteristic and removal of odor associated with NH3, R-NH2, and H2S fugitive from the concentrated sludge and the dewatered sludge generated in the biological treatment of photoelectric industry wastewater. The results showed that the concentrations of fugitive NH3, R-NH2, and H2S from the concentrated sludge before dewatering were similar to those after dewatering. The concentrations of NH3, R-NH2, and H2S before dewatering were in the ranges of 6.0–7.5,15.0–17.0, and 1.0–2.0 ppm, respectively. The concentrations of NH3, R-NH2, and H2S after dewatering were in the ranges of, 8.0–12.5, 15.0–17.5 and 1.0–2.0 ppm, respectively). After 60-hr aeration, the concentrations of NH3, R-NH2, and H2S fugitive from the concentrated sludge before dewatering decreased from 7.0, 16.0, and 1.0 ppm, respectively to all ND (not detectable); likewise, the concentrations of NH3, R-NH2, and H2S fugitive from the dewatered sludge were also all ND. The results of this study suggest that the aeration process effectively reduce the NH3, R-NH2, and H2S fugitive from the concentrated sludge in the biological treatment of photoelectric industry wastewater.
