The results showed first these participants are able to reflect past experiences through serving and interchanging with locals in the daily life. Secondly, through the process of learning and reflecting with exchanging with the locals, the participants are able to develop global perspective and transform the negative impression to positive, and break the stereotypes and bias. Finally, the qualitative results showed that the participants have positive adaptability to conditions with different cultural values. This means short term residents are able to adapt selves consistently under different environments, lives, and works to enhance their own adaptability.
