碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 環境生物與漁業科學學系 / 100 / The marine oligotrich ciliates isolated from the coastal waters of northeastern Taiwan were reported, using live observation, protargol preparations and molecular data. There are five species belonging to five families and five genera, including Parastrombidinopsis minima Tsai et al., 2008, Spirotontonia taiwanica Tsai et al., 2010, and new records of Taiwan, Cyrtostrombidium longisomum Lynn & Gilron, 1993 and Strombidium compressum (Leegaard, 1915) Kahl, 1932, as well as one new species, Pelagostrobilidium liui n. sp. with the following characteristic: subspherical in shape, 13-25 × 12-16 μm in size, C-shaped macronucleus (3.9×12.6 μm), adoral zone of membranelles circular, composed of 18-23 external membranelles and 6 internaloral membranelles, and 4 somatic kineties.
In the genus Pelagostrobilidium, the significance of kinetal structure and kinetal arrangement were reaccessed, and the evolution of the somatic kineties was discussed on the basis of 18S rDNA sequence in the present study.
