碩士 / 國立臺北教育大學 / 社會與區域發展學系碩士班 / 100 / The study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing interactive whiteboard for school-based curriculum with “marine education” teaching through ASSURE mode. The study compares the interactive whiteboard teaching method with the traditional marine teaching method to discuss the teaching effectiveness of different approaches. The curriculum of the study comprises the 4th grade school-based courses of the researcher and is titled to “marine ecology and preservation.” The teaching activity is divided into four sub-themes, namely marine resources, marine preservation, marine pollution, and marine actions. The study objects comprised of 40 students from two classes of fourth graders in the researcher’s school, which was carried out through quasi-experimental research method and divided into the experimental group and the controlled group. The experimental group underwent interactive whiteboard teaching experiment through ASSURE mode while the controlled group carried out relevant teaching experiment through traditional marine teaching mode.
The study discovered that the implementation of ASSURE-based interaction whiteboard with “marine education” teaching can effectively enhance students’ learning effectiveness in marine education, marine preservation, marine pollution, and marine actions.The comparison of “marine education” teachings between ASSURE based implementation of interactive whiteboard and traditional marine teaching mode shows that the effectiveness of interactive whiteboard leaning was better than traditional marine education teaching model in terms of marine resource, marine pollution and marine actions. In terms of learning interests and interaction, the student interactive learning table, classroom interactive observation table and the semi-structural interview showed that students from the experiment performed better in small-group discussion, on-stage presentation, and interaction and reply with teachers than students from the controlled group. The study shows that the different functions of interactive whiteboard are interesting and novel to the children, who also are curious about the interactive whiteboard. Such curiosities, novelty and interesting stimulation can be transformed into the motivation for children to want to speak up, get on stage and participate in small-group discussion. The best teaching method is the design incorporating the course design with animation and buttons for question answering that can mostly attract children to participate. The study discovered that the implementation of ASSURE based interactive whiteboard for “marine education” teaching can increase the learning interaction to children.
