The Performance Evaluation of Online Game Industry after Financial Tsunami:Integrated DEA and BCG Matrix / 線上遊戲產業在金融海嘯後之經營績效-整合DEA與BCG矩陣方法

However, along with the Financial Tsunami, the concept of Otaku Economy appeared. Because of the impact of the Financial Tsunami, the global economic declined, Otaku Economy has become the most popular activities on the contrary. Due to the global financial crisis with the broadcasting of the Otaku Economy and the wide-scale of layoff among enterprises, people are going to worry about that they might lose their jobs and that their family financial situation might not predictable in the future. Therefore, people gradually adjust their life style and consumer behavior, and raise the time staying at home.

This research uses the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. Collect relevant data from Market Observation Post System (M.O.P.S.) and Taiwan Economic Journal, and analyze financial statements by using the DEA analysis and BCG Matrix. Try to find out the factor of making profits in each company. This helps the company allocate resources and is used as an analytical tool in brand marketing, product management, strategic management, and portfolio analysis. This study aims to find out the key success factors regarding how enterprise Taiwan''s Online Game Industry makes and executes business resource allocation and synergy development. The main empirical result is as follows: The study showed that data envelopment analysis method had multiple indicator characteristics when measuring performance. If we can optimize resource allocation, it can promote the operating performance of the Online Game industry.
