From the ‘Homeland Turned into a Strange-land’: The Study of the Festivalscapes of Ho-Hai-Yan Rock Festival and Living Spaces / 從「故鄉變異鄉」-貢寮海洋音樂祭節慶地景與生活空間之研究

碩士 / 國立高雄大學 / 都市發展與建築研究所 / 100 / There has been a mushrooming of different kinds of “festivals” in Taiwan. We can participate in the festival activities in any place at any time. Meanwhile, Ho-Hai-Yan Rock Festival comes with the trend in order to improve local economy and indie music industry. The study focused at the Ho-Hai-Yan Rock Festival for the「One characteristic of each township」.It impacts on the residents’ living spaces and cultural Industries at Gongliao.
The methods used for data collecting are through historical collection, interviewing, participation observation. And Ho-Hai-Yan Rock Festival is the case study. The analytic objects are the phenomenon of festivalization and the development issues of Gongliao. In addition, this study was based on the festivalscapes and the living spaces theory. Looking back to history and viewing of life spaces base upon “Gongliao’s opinion”, and survey the ideas and benefit of Ho-Hai-Yan Rock Festival. The local culture cognition is different at the organizer and the residents.
Important research findings found are shown in the following: The Ho-Hai-Yan Rock Festival is imaginative festival. The government plans tourism marketing practices and public construction in the same township, and they hope to find opportunities for rural development. But the living spaces of Fulong settlement produce the festivalscapes, it shows
Taiwan around the countries faces different development with the same strategy. The government organized events failed to care for the local culture, which contradicts the original purpose of the activity. I hope the content of Ho-Hai-Yan Rock Festival with the local culture, but also link the local industry in the future. The culture of Gongliao is deeply rooted and sustainable development by The Community Development.
