碩士 / 中國文化大學 / 體育學系運動教練碩博士班 / 100 / Purpose: The study was to design a set of core muscle training and to investigate the effect of core muscle training on swimmers’ performance of dolphin kick. Methods: The subjects were 22 swimming athletes of Nei-Hu elementary school. All subjects’ average age, height and weight were 11.27 ± 0.75 years, 151.05 ± 7.26 cm and 42.45 ± 8.09 kg respectively. All subjects were divided randomly into core training group (n=11) and control group (n=11). The core training group accepted core muscle training three times per week for six weeks. All subjects were assessed 25 meters of dolphin kick test pre and post-training period. Mixed design two-way ANOVA was used to compare the results and statistics of pre-test and the post-test. Results: After six-week core muscle training, the statistics revealed core training group had significant progress in 25 meters of dolphin kick and indicated significant difference in effect between pre-test and post-test (p<.05), and the range of progress were significantly greater than that of the control group.
