碩士 / 國防大學政治作戰學院 / 社會工作碩士班 / 100 / I am a naval officer. On November 13, 2007, my life experienced an another role, which is a “father”. The main purpose of this study is to explore the fathering, and father involvement in naval vessel family. And use family system theory approach by Belsky (1981) to understand that affects the fathering in the context.
This qualitative study observes through the application of semi-structured and in depth interviews 3 naval vessel families. Each family contains a military father, spouse and child. Therefore, there will be 9 interview drafts in this study as the leading analysis database of this study by the usage of individual interviews.
Based on the results of data coding analysis, the findings of this study is the following:
First, bustling naval vessel duties have strongly disturbed the relationships between fathers and their own children for quite some time.
Next, the military socialization will have certain influences on the ways in children’s education.
Moreover, the mindsets concerning compensation of the fathers on naval vessels will transfer from material reparation to substantial accompanying.
Furthermore, distant communication has become the most significant channel to maintain the parent-child relationships.
Finally, mother always play a crucial role which in communication, coordination or the bridge among military father and child.
