This paper aims explore the Taiwan companies to apply for a syndicated loans duration, whether due to the financial crisis of 2008. This study, try to OLS least squares regression analysis, first determine the change in each variable after the financial crisis of 2008, and secondly, one by one to join the loan characteristic variables and loan company financial variables to be controlled, and finally, cutting samples of point change for the robustness test, whether change the financial crisis of 2008 affect the duration of syndicated loans.
The empirical results , after the financial crisis of 2008, will get the syndicated loans faster, because after the financial crisis of 2008, the Bank a commitment to the relative increase of the transparency of the financial statements of higher corporate, and the commitment to make these loans to enterprises will also be reduced in complexity on audit, so that get syndicated loans faster; loan characteristic variables in the financial crisis of 2008 increase more collateral, the number of Lead arranger reduce, are geting syndicated loans slower, and increase the number of foreign banks ratio can get syndicated loans faster, is due to the use of loans by foreign banks couplet those loans experience; Finally, after the financial crisis of 2008, the loan company financial variables results compared to assets and the Q increased, the sales decline, but get the syndicated loans slower.
These results, even in the robustness test, it will not change.
