Animated Architecture -- Carbon Reduction Strategy By Microalgae / 活建築--藻類減碳策略

碩士 / 東海大學 / 建築學系 / 100 / In the view of the fact that the crisis of climate change and energy is threatening our world. Especially for Taiwan that more than 98% energy relies on imports. Therefore, from the point of view of architecture, what can it intervene or response to this issue.
In this paper, we use algae which has characteristics of reducing carbon dioxide and producing energy, as a media of space placement in order to response these environmental issues. At the same time, we can rethink about the relationship between architecture and environment that architectural element should have more possibility and expansibility besides structure, function and aesthetic. For environmental issues, can we have new thought and method about Green Building.

Facing this kind of environmental issue, according to analysis of Taiwan environment investigation, we can choice the proper intervene point of algae system. Depends on different space type and quantity of carbon emissions, we can provide some strategies from a bigger spatial scale in order to solve part of environment problems. To go a step further, we can reuse the reject which is made by human and reproduce energy. In the spatial design of architecture, we can combine algae system with building system as a foundation of architecture design. Under different spatial condition, the algae metabolism system can adjust the form of algae metabolism system to conform the needs of spatial environment. Therefore, the algae carbon reduce system can become a spatial strategy of carbon reduce and energy produce, and also can be use widely and effectively in every space and city.
