碩士 / 國立雲林科技大學 / 設計運算研究所碩士班 / 100 / Audio context and visual context are both been identified as parts of environmental assets. However, while shaping the city images, visual and graphic communications are still the major ways in nowadays. As a result, the city images are constrained with visual sights. Hence, this research referenced Soundscape as our major theory, and aims to explore the audio context and shaping images across the Kaohsiung tourism harbors. In this research, we analyzed the tourism information from Kaohsiung City Government website and publications initially, and identified six Kaohsiung harbors as our research context. Then, we conducted field study as pilot study, and appropriate the research methods according to the findings from the pilot study. After that, we conducted online surveys, which come up with the time period of field study and tourist questionnaire. According to the time period results, we conducted the actual field study and interview. Lastly, we analyzed the soundscape logs and interview data via the soundscape analyzing structure.

The research results includes: 1) Suggestions for soundscape recording process: This research intended to propose new process and method for existing research, including the method of dividing recording area and time period; 2) Hearing images and soundscape analysis across the harbors: Fishman Wharf has continuous music sounds from restaurants, which convey the lazy and relaxing images; Banana Pier has great amounts of tourists, which convey the feeling of lively and commercials. Salt Pier was surrounded by the pier art center and Iron work factories, as a result, it conveys natural, happiness and relaxing feelings to tourists. Singuang Ferry Wharf is away from city, which consists of natural sounds, peaceful, relaxing and desolate feelings. Love Ferry Pier has singers, and the singing voices create relaxing feelings. Glorious Pier has broad spaces and without any commercial activities, the natural sounds convey relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. 3) Kaohsiung tourism harbors soundscape analyze method: According to the field study and analyze results, this research proposed the Kaohsiung tourism harbors soundscape analyze method, that is, process social composition analysis via triangle area division initially, then analyze the sound with the triangle soundscape method. This research suggests the results may not only contribute to shape images in Kaohsiung tourism harbors, which bring out the characteristic of harbors, but also as the references for shaping city images and soundscape researches.
