博士 / 中華大學 / 工程科學博士學位學程 / 101 / In a context-aware ubiquitous learning activity, students are guided to learn in the real world with personalized supports from the learning system. As the learning resources are real targets in the real world, certain physical constraints such as the limitation of the stream of people who can visit the same learning target, the time needed for moving from one target to another need to be taken into account. Moreover, the values of these context-dependent parameters are likely to change swiftly during the learning process, which makes it become a challenging and important issue to find a navigation support mechanism for suggesting learning paths for individual students in real time.
In this dissertation, three research issues are investigated. At first, the navigation support problem for context-aware ubiquitous learning is formulated as a path optimization problem. A navigation support mechanism for context-aware ubiquitous learning environments is proposed. Secondly, in order to provide personalized learning activity, several learning styles are investigated. The personalized factors are also considered and a personalized navigation strategy is proposed. Finally, in order to achieve better performance, a blended ubiquitous learning environment and the navigation mechanism for this new environment are proposed. In each research issues, several field experiments are conducted in the National Museum of Natural Science in Taiwan to evaluate the performance of the proposed mechanisms. From the analysis results, it is concluded that the proposed mechanisms can improve the students’ learning efficacy and learning experience.
