The researcher compares the film「台灣念真情」with the teacher-self-made instructional video「大甲媽祖」to analyze texts and ways for film shooting within them, then finds that the instructional video「大甲媽祖」is limited to knowledge and cognitive contents, and lacks for humane and affective contents. Thus, the researcher inquires attractive elements and ways for filming in the film「台灣念真情」to creative the instructional Video“Ocean Poetry, Paintings, and the Capitan’s Dreams”.
“Ocean Poetry, Paintings, and the Capitan’s Dreams”is a teacher-self-made instructional video for provincial ocean environment curriculums and made by the researcher who is an elementary school teacher. The teacher, the film maker, takes students deeply into Keelung provincial ocean culture, dips out attractive life stories of Capitan Lin, visits and records the Capitan Lin who is distinctive and has talents for poetry and painting. The video is made from records and students participated dramas.
The instructional units for the video are arranged according to instructional contents, include: Unit 1: the Capitan is a Big Liar. , Unit 2: the World of the Fisherman. , Unit 3: Cherishing Ocean Tide Environment Park. , Unit 4: the Young Poet is You.
The creating processes include rethinking and revising, discussing with community teachers after film watching, and developing curriculums for video instructions. The researcher summaries and analyzes students’ learning reports, finds that most students can write out core values of curriculums and reach the cognitive and affective objectives.
Through the creating processes for teacher-self-made instructional videos and the experiences of rethinking and reflecting, the researcher gets perspective transformation, teacher professional empowerment and the feeling of achievement.
