A Study of Straits Exchange Foundation and Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits Negotiated(2008-2012):ECFA Negotiated For Example / 海基會與海協會協商之研究(2008-2012)-以ECFA協商談判為例

Taiwan and East Asian countries increasingly close economic and trade exchanges, China, Japan, Korea, ASEAN, etc. together accounted for 65% of total Taiwan exports. In recent years, trade between the countries of the regional economic integration, Taiwan is still unable to participate, Taiwan's economic development in the region is detrimental. This paper uses the cooperative game theory, and interdependence theory to explore ECFA negotiation. Using document analysis, collection of relevant information in order to analyze the Taiwan ECFA negotiated political and economic effects.
The ECFA negotiation is China's Taiwan policy implementation. Taiwan signed the ECFA is to promote the economic policy of free trade, ECFA negotiations is accordance with the principles of the easier issues first, gradual, phased driven. Early Harvest Program execution status is indeed creating cross-Straits economic benefits. Study found that ECFA on Taiwan's political effect is the DPP change in the position of ECFA. Some Enterprises in order to maintain cross-Straits economic cooperation, agree the 1992 Consensus and ECFA policy. ECFA negotiations also maintain peace and stability in cross-Straits relations. Economic effects of ECFA Early Harvest Program shows good results, and deepen cross-Straits economic cooperation, Taiwan businessmen and foreign investors to increase investment in Taiwan.
Taiwan should continue through the ECFA negotiation, continue to complete the follow-up negotiations with China on trade in goods, the dispute settlement, creation of cross-Straits common interests, to maintain cross-Straits stability and peaceful development. Taiwan's economic growth depends on export growth. Taiwan signed the ECFA is to join regional free trade integration first step. Taiwan is also needed with other major trading countries signed a free trade agreement, to create greater economic benefits.
