碩士 / 開南大學 / 觀光與餐飲旅館學系 / 101 / There are only few discourses on the relationship of ecotourism development between stakeholders and environment resources in Taiwan. On the other hand, according to recent surveys, North Coast of Taiwan has plenty of natural landscapes and high diversity of natural resources for the sustainable tourism. This study for constructing the valuable indicators of ecotourism at North Coast is focusing on the relationships between humans and environmental resources through review of the literature on related articles. We designed different levels for all potentential indicators, which categorized as 8 dimensions, 23 assessment types, and 121 evaluation indicators. Two rounds of Likert-scale questionnaire for all indicators replied and some suggestions advised by 22 experts had been inspected through Delphi technique. As a result, we weighed ecotourism development indicators.
After two rounds of questionnaire, experts provided 67 first priority indicators, 47 secondary priority indicators, 2 reselection indicators, 1 less concerned indicator and 4 deletion ones that experts didn’t reach consensus. The total 117 indicators of expert consensus will be considered as the important indexes which can establish the ecotourism development at North Coast. Those indicators were calculated into mean and mode from Likert-scale measurement by expert opinion, and the results showed that 55.4% of them was first priority, 38.8% was secondary priority, 1.7% was reselection, 0.8% was less concern, and 3.3% indicators was deleted.
More specifically, 9 indicators of the landscape assessment type of the biological dimension in environmental resources were highly recognized by experts, while 4 deleted indicators were the "convenient transportation assessment at ecotourism area" of policy assessment type of management dimension in stakeholders, the "low-carbon energy with existing bike lanes and trails", the "cooperating with the local government to implement the folk festivals and activities " of modern assessment type of human dimension in environmental resources, and the "continuing sulfur fire fishing activity and inherited the traditional culture of their ancestors" of tradition assessment type of human dimension in environmental resources.
The indicators are listed and weighed in the expert evaluation, hoping to provide governments, travel agents, tourists, and non-governmental organizations for the planning of ecotourism activities through the priority considerations, but also take the indicators in environmental resources highly attention at North Coast of Taiwan.
