A Cross-Cultural Comparison of Airlines Safety Briefing Cards / 從跨文化觀點探討不同國籍航空公司之客艙安全提示卡設計

碩士 / 開南大學 / 空運管理學系 / 101 / "Improving Aviation Safety" has been the primary efforts of civil air transport common goal! After so many years in the practice and theory of research and analysis, and finally determine the "human factors" as the prevention and strengthening management, completed the Safety Management System (SMS), in order to truly enhance flight safety, the establishment of high quality safety culture. Cabin safety information delivered correctly can improve passengers in the event of an accident survivor probability, so passengers for cabin safety briefing can fully understand, and in the event of a crisis actually show up, both in academic research and practice are very important but issue.

Unfortunately, the current domestic and international aviation safety management related research, mostly focuses on the areas of aviation safety, rarely engaged in the Cabin Safety Briefing Cards, or even a study of cross-cultural differences. Therefore, this study hopes to fill this gap in the literature. In addition to research airline Cabin Safety Briefing Cards in different regions with significant design differences are outside; same time, using Hofstede (2001) for cross-cultural analysis of the five models, Cabin Safety Briefing Cards for cross-country comparative cultural analysis to explore the cultural differences of the world national airline Cabin Safety Briefing Cards design.
The results showed that in different countries airline Cabin Safety Briefing Cards design, there is indeed national cultural differences. Cabin Safety Briefing Cards in the cabin on the overall design of the card, "Size - Width", "Emotional Appeal" and "Security Topics" three categories with significant regional differences. In Hofstede's five analytical model for cross-cultural comparison, the main factors that affect the overall design of the "Uncertainty Avoidance", secondary factors as "Masculinity, MAS", "Power Distance, PDI ", "Individualism, IDV". While in other parts of security topics, there are also cross-cultural differences.
