Forecasting Service of Bus Schedule in Intelligent Transportation Systems / 用於智慧型運輸系統之行程預報服務

碩士 / 國立高雄應用科技大學 / 電子工程系碩士班 / 101 / The development of Intelligent Transportation Systems, the ITS, is in a progressive stage. Nations worldwide also invest huge amounts of labors and funds into this technology. ITS has been widely applied in transportation researches in order to resolve traffic issues and increase transportation efficiency and capacity. For the sake of promoting global environmental protection and of carbon-emission reduction, Intelligent Transportation Systems were developed to comply with the trend of this era. With the increase of transportation capacity, a more convenient domestic intelligent transportation system becomes the crucial target. To cope with increasing transportation capacity, enhance traveler information system and respond to green transport, Dynamics Bus Information Systems in each city have been upgraded continuously and gained its importance in “i-Taiwan 12 Projects.” Advanced Public Transportation System, which is interrelated with ITS, also becomes the crucial issue of basic infrastructure at the national level. Based on Extensible Markup Language (XML), a framework of information interchange is presented in this thesis and this study reveals the dynamic bus information by displaying estimated time of arrival of buses on Bus alert in five cities. In this system, Automated Vehicle Location System (AVLS), which contains GPS, will be set on buses in order to locate the en-route longitude and latitude and information of buses. Together with the schedule of due buses, the information mentioned above will be sent to transportation management center via GPRS and third generation (henceforth 3G). The system will figure out the estimated time of arrival of buses which will be displayed to passengers by the program of Bus Alert. Dynamic Bus Information System uses a XML-based forecasting service of buses, which is called Bus Alert deployed in 5 cities. It helps passengers to arrange their trips and time efficiently, and it also offers the service of calculating the estimated time of arrival.
