A Study of Relationships among Serious Leisure, Family-Leisure Conflict, and Family Life Satisfaction for Anglers:a Family Benefits Perceived Perspective / 海釣遊憩者認真性休閒、家庭-休閒衝突與家庭生活滿意度關係之研究:從家庭知覺利益觀點

碩士 / 銘傳大學 / 觀光事業學系碩士在職專班 / 101 / The aim of this paper was to study the relations among “Serious Leisure”, “Family Benefits Perceived”, “Family-Leisure Conflict” and “Family Life Satisfaction”. The questionnaires were sent out via local rock fishing organization, accommodation for angling tourists and fish tackle shops during the period of December of 2012 to March of 2013, aiming to target on local angling tourists who were married and had joined angling organization and angling tourists who came from the main island of Taiwan, married, and work in the angling tourism industry. 421 questionnaires were returned, and 400 of them were effective, resulting in an effective rate of 95%. The SPSS 18 statistic program was used to analysis the data, and the results were as the following:
1. Married angling tourists’ serious leisure was affected by “the age of youngest child”, “education level”, “occupation”, “participation in angling organization”, “residential region”, “angling age”, “times of angling monthly”, “duration of each angling”, and “annual investment of angling equipment”, each change in the factors would bring variations to the results. The angling tourists in “Matsu region” tended to have higher variations in each factor than those in “Taiwan”. Angling tourists who had “Participation in angling organization” demonstrated higher variations than those did not.
2. Married angling tourists’ Family Life Satisfaction was affected by “education level”, “participation in angling organization” and “annual investment of angling equipment”, each change in the factors would bring variations to the results. The angling tourists who have participation in angling organization demonstrated higher “Family Life Satisfaction” than those who did not.
3. Married angling tourists’ Family-Leisure Conflict was affected by factors of “the age of youngest child”, “education level”, “occupation”, and “residential region”, each change in the factors would bring variations to the results. Angling tourists in Matsu region tended to have higher impacts than those who came from “Taiwan”.
4. Married angling tourists’ Family Benefits Perceived was affected by factors of “gender”, “age”, “education level”, “occupation”, “participation in angling organization”, “age of angling”, “times of angling monthly”, and “duration of each angling”, each change in the factors would bring variations to the results. Male tended to have higher degree of recognition than female towards fishing activity in this case, and angling tourists who had participation in angling organization had higher degree of recognition than those who did not.
5. Serious Leisure, Family Benefits Perceived and Family Life Satisfaction tended to have positive correlations with the other, while having negative correlations with the Family-Leisure Conflict.
6. Serious Leisure, Family Benefits Perceived and tended to have positive correlations with Family Life Satisfaction; Family Benefits Perceived acted as a partial intermediary towards Serious Leisure and Family Life Satisfaction.
7. Serious Leisure and Family-Leisure Conflict had positive prediction effect towards Family Life Satisfaction; Serious Leisure positively affected Family Life Satisfaction. However, Family-Leisure Conflict negatively impacted Family Life Satisfaction.
8. Serious Leisure and Family Benefits Perceived tended to have negative prediction effect towards Family-Leisure Conflict. However, Family Benefits Perceived played a full role of intermediary effect towards Serious Leisure and Family-Leisure Conflict.
The result of the study shows that the serious leisure of angling tourist may reduce the Family-Leisure Conflict and improve the Family Life Satisfaction; moreover, the Family Perceived Benefits may be improved accordingly. The study suggests that one should take care of the need of the family members while participating into the serious leisure and the Family-Leisure Conflict can be reduced effectively.
