Walt "balance of threat" theory.

China is the joint source of the US-Philippine perception of the threat.the United States to return to Asia's strategic objectives adjustment, highlighting the plight of the Obama administration.When Hillary Clinton declared "return to Asia" in 2009,the claiming "Pacific president" of the Obama establish a new relationship with Asia,strengthen the commitment of the Philippines and other traditional allies,actively involved in the issues of ASEAN,and massive military deployment in the South China Sea. The reiteration that freedom in the South China Sea relevant to U.S. South China Sea become the place that contend resources and sovereignty land.

Philippines disputed about sovereignty in the South China Sea positioning is very important. This paper will use the point of geostrategic background and US-Philippine alliance strategy to analyze the importance of the South China Sea during Obama's strategical adjustment of Asia-Pacific and the global layout, explore reasons behind it, and use Stephen M. Walt "balance of threat" theory to examine the significance of the US-Philippine alliance with the "perception of the threat ".It provide advice and information that the development and changes in South China Sea in the future.
