碩士 / 國立嘉義大學 / 水生生物科學系研究所 / 101 / The aim of the study was to observe an anti-stress function of I-Tiao-Gung extracts (GTE) treatments during transport for two ornamental fish (blood parrots and koi). It was to confirm which one is the best stress-indicator during transport. The stress indicators included cortisol, glucose, lactate, anions, and lysozyme. Cortisol level was non-significantly changes within 2 hrs of transport until after 4 hrs, but it was significant lower than control group after 6 hrs. We suggested that the HPI axis probably had caused damage by transport stress at this moment (transport after 6’ hrs ). Plasma Cl- and Ca2+ were significantly lower than control group after 4 hrs on blood parrots. In contrast, plasma Ca2+ was significantly higher than control on koi. In addition, Na+ showed a similar profile with the changes of Ca2+. According to the data, we suggested that the cortisol, Na+, Cl- and Ca2+ were suitable indicator of transport stress. In addition, under the same treatment conditions, it was reconfirmed that the GTE was effective to reduce stress and to maintain ions homeostasis on blood parrots and koi during transport. Compare the NH3-N levels, and found that the transport stress NH3-N levels were non-significantly difference between the tanker mixture with GTE or not。
