碩士 / 南華大學 / 國際暨大陸事務學系公共政策研究碩士班 / 101 / The purpose of this study is to know more about the conditions of bullying in junior high schools in mountain and coast regions. The connection of bullying at schools and the local customs of those schools in the two regions is analyzed; meanwhile, the difference of junior high school students’ backgrounds and types of bullying at schools is also compared.
In this study, questionnaire survey is implemented. In this cluster sampling, the junior high school students in mountain and coast regions in Taichung City are the participants of this study, and the questionnaire “The Difference of Conditions of Bullying” is used. The participants include the students in the six schools in mountain and coast regions in Taichung City. All the questionnaires are given back and the data are processed through chi-squared Test and analyzed through Average, Standard Deviation, Independent-Sample T Test, One-way Anova. The conclusions achieved from this study are as following:
First, in the condition of bullying at the schools in mountain and coast regions in Taichung City, boys don’t have significant difference, but girls do. Besides, the situation of the schools in the mountain region is worse than in than coast region.
Second, in the condition of school bullying among the three grades in schools in mountain and regions, there is significant difference in the eighth grade. And the situation of the schools in the mountain region is worse than in the coast region. However, the students in the seventh and ninth grade don’t have significant difference.
Third, when analyzing the family types of students among the three grades, it is found that the condition of bullying of students who live with their parents is worse in the mountain region than in the coast region. But there is no significant difference in the students who are from a single-parent family or a grandparents-breeding family.
Fourth, about bullying of the students who join an after-school tutorial program, the students are in worse situation at the schools in the mountain region than in the coast region. As for the students who don’t join an after-school tutorial program have no significant difference.
Fifth, in the analyses of the types of bullying, including verbal bullying, physical bullying, sexual bullying, cyber bullying, the situation of the schools is more serious in the mountain region than in the coast region.
Sixth, in the analyses of school bullying happed at different time or places and with different causes, the condition of the schools in the mountain region is worse than in the coast region.
At last, according to the result of this study, some suggestions about the attitudes of parents’ disciplining and anti-bullying are recommended, and hopefully the suggestions can be offered to schools, teachers, parents, and our society as reference in other research.
