碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 海事資訊科技研究所 / 101 / The Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) became available onboard merchant ships under the Manila Amendments to the STCW Convention and Code since 2010. ECDIS is of purpose to ease the workload and to provide accurate navigational data at the same time. For more information will be given to the mariners than a conventional chart work. The potential could be an absolute replacement of paper chart by operating ECDIS. As the carriage requirement was introduced, the paper is keen to look at viewers from the end users, the deck office. Furthermore, the difference btw ECDIS and conventional chart will be studied.
『By means of questionnaire survey ,110 qualified deck officers were invited to be the respondents .Positive attitudes were found to show supports in operating ECDIS on the bridge. The difference in opinion for ECDIS monitor display were found among groups of officers ranking gender and sea experience 』
A Simulator exercise was carried out with 31 maritime students. The experiment was to find out the performance by using or not using ECDIS. Better course made good were particularly found when students operating ECDIS.
