碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 輪機工程研究所 / 101 / There has been a significant increase in the installation and use of power electronic equipment on board ships installations. The operation of this equipment has in many cases significantly degraded the ship electrical power quality to such an extent that measures have to be implemented in order to minimize the resultant adverse effects on the electrical plant and equipment. This paper aims at presenting a methodology for single-tuned filter design particularly for shipboard applications for suppressing harmonics in accordance with marine harmonic standards. The unique feature of the developed filter design model is that it incorporates both the filter capacity and resonant point as design parameters. The model also considers parallel generator operating modes of the vessel and associated electrical power demands and includes calculation of harmonic voltage distortion, which enables the detailed examination of each individual, as well as the total harmonic distortions, and also recommends filters with specifications appropriate to the system. A practical ship power system with existing harmonic problems was selected to demonstrate and validate the proposed approach through numerical simulation and field test. The analysis model developed can aid engineers to plan similar means of harmonics mitigation early in the design stage of the electrical power distribution systems tomake the system reliable and secure.
