A Method for Modulized Arrangement Design of Engine Room Equipment Sets and Peripheral Pipes / 機艙立體裝備暨周邊管路模組化佈置方法

碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 輪機工程研究所 / 101 / This research is to develop a method to modulized the design of the equipment sets and their peripheral pipes and to establish catalogs to simplify the peripheral pipe design process.
The basis to modulize the design of equipment and peripheral pipes is the pipe-net base piping system design method. A pipe-net is a graph, in which a segment of pipe is an edge, and an elbow, Tee-branch, control vale, or inlet or outlet nozzle of an equipment set is a node.
The peripheral pipes of equipment sets can be modeled as a set of constraint equations of pipe length parameter. This research has developed an analysis method and computer program to identify dependent constraint equations. Once these dependent constraint equations are deleted, the remaining constraint equations are independent and are information needed for pipe-net catalogs.
For each (pair of) selected equipment and peripheral pipe set, engineers need to assign values for free pipe-length parameters, the remaining constraint pipe-length parameters can be solved by using Gauss Elimination. If the free parameters are assigned as their minimal lengths, the space occupied by peripheral pipes can be smaller.
This research uses a dual parallel set of coolers and pumps as examples to demonstrate the catalog development steps and application of peripheral pipe catalogs.
