Studies of Rotifer Enrichment and Dietary Natural Pigments on Growth, Survival and Pigmentation of the Offspring Larvae Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) / 滋養輪蟲與飼糧天然色素源對眼斑海葵仔稚魚成長、活存及呈色之研究

碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 水產養殖研究所 / 101 / Two experiments were conducted to find out the effects of rotifer enrichment and dietary natural pigments on growth, survival and pigmentation of the offspring larvae Amphiprion ocellaris in light and dark environment : I. Effects of rotifer enrich with probiotics fed larvae on survival and growth of Amphiprion ocellaris , Rotifer were enriched with photosynthetic bacteria(R), Rhodopseudomonas palustris, Yeast(Y), Saccharomyces cerevisiae and commercial probiotics(B)(Bacillus lentimorbus, B. stearothermophilus, and B. subtilis) at two concentration 0.5( I ) and 1.0( II ) % for 24 hrs, then fed larvae for 7 days. II. Effects of dietary natural pigments on pigmentation of Amphiprion ocellaris in light and dark environment. Natural pigments from yeast Phaffia rhodozyma(P),alga Haematococcus pluvialis(H)and photobacteria, Rhodopseudomonas palustris(R)were supplemented in formulated diets at two concentrations, 80(I) and 160(II) mg kg-1, resulting in six pigmented diets PI, PII , HI, HII, RI and RII. Formulated diet without pigments supplementation served as a control(C). The different diets were fed to Amphiprion ocellaris for 12 weeks. Results in Exp. I. showed that survival rate in(R)treatments were significantly higher compared with YI,YII,BI,BII, and the control. However, there were no significant difference between YI,YII,BI,BII and the control. Growth of the larvae in RI, RII,BI, BII treatments were significantly different than the control. Results in Exp. II. showed that growth of fish in light treatments were significantly higher than in dark treatments. Pigmentation of fish in light treatments were significant higher than in dark treatments, too. In light treatment, natural pigment treated fish showed significantly higher pigmentation compared with the control groups. Pigmentation of fish in(H)treatments were significant higher than those of treatments. There was no significant difference in pigmentation between RII and HII treatment. No significant differences in pigmentation were observed among fish fed the PI, PII and RI pigments supplemented diets. In dark treatment, except PI treatment, natural pigment treated fish showed significantly higher pigmentation than those of control groups. This research demonstrated that there were higher survival on offspring larvae when rotifer enrich with probiotics. Offspring larvae diets contending pigments affect the pigmentation in the larvae.
