碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 水產養殖學系 / 101 / Botryococcus braunii is a microalga that can produce a great quantity of hydrocarbon. It has been regarded as a potential and renewable energy resource, that attracting a lot of studies in this field. The present study tried to analysis the effects on biomass as well as oil content and composition in varied light intensities and concentrations of nitrogen. Consequently, obtained the best factors for B. braunii secrete oil for producing bio-energy. In addition, the biomass and oil contents of B. braunii (fatty acid compositions and quantity of hydrocarbon) were also studied in the present study. The results of the present study showed, that if need to produce bio-energy, therefore cultured B. braunii NTOU with 6NB medium and 121.5-173.475 µmol m-2 s-1 of light intensities were suggested, in which can obtain the best quantities of oil and hydrocarbon. In contrast, B. braunii UTEX were cultured with 6NB medium and 67.5-81 µmol m-2 s-1 light intensities can obtain the best quantities of oil and hydrocarbon. Of the oil extrgaction, fatty acids occupied 0.22~1.82%, and other hydrocarbon was 98.18~99.78% of B. braunii NTOU, while fatty acids occupied 0.96~3.31%, and other hydrocarbon was 96.69~99.04% of B. braunii UTEX. According to the algal colors and morphologies, and the oil races they produced, the B. braunii of NTOU and UTEX of the present study belong to B and L races, respectively.
