碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 航運管理學系 / 101 / The economy of Taiwan has eventually been growing due to the the well-developed international trading business for decades. In the process of international trading business, the cargoes are speedily, economically and safely delivered to the destinations through the combination of the diversified services industries. Among all these service industries, the companies of transportation services always play the significant role . Since the economy of Taiwan is a kind of island-state, sea-freight transportation has mostly been relied on while the international trading business being conducted. And, compared the different types of transportation service providers, the Ocean Freight Forwarder is more inseparable than the carriers, shipping agencies or container freight stations to the international trading business.
The Ocean Freight Forwarder has been favored by small- and medium-sized enterprises because they consistently provide the more customized Door to Door service than the Port to Port service offered by the carriers. Closely cooperating with the carriers and foreign agents, the Ocean Freight Forwarders serve their clients satisfactorily at both places of origins and destinations.
This thesis is studying the evaluation on the key influential elements by which the Ocean Freight Forwarders choose their overseas agents. The evaluation focuses on two sectors, one is the inter-relationship between the key influential elements, the other is the different schemes for various scales and international trade of Ocean Freight Forwarders. And, the four tools of Benefits, Opportunities, Costs and Risks are also adopted in the evaluation. The structure of this essay is formed by the two sectors and the four tools.
