碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 教育研究所 / 101 / The purpose of this study is to integrate marine education into primary school English courses with curriculum mapping. It focuses on how curriculum mapping influences the design of curriculum, the planning of classroom activities, the change of teachers’ perceptions on language teaching, and the improvement of students’ performance. Action research was conducted, and the subjects were 38 third graders. The analysis of the results is through observation, questionnaire, readinfg notes and teaching evaluation form.
The study’s findings include three dimensions. First, integrating curriculum mapping into curriculum designs, the researcher's ability in English curriculum designs and teaching ability improved. Second, it enables teachers to reflect their own teaching and to self-corrcet their teaching based on students’ feedback. Third, incorporating marine education into English classes improves students’ performance. Results and suggestions of this study are used as references for teachers using curriculum maps and future researches.
