Development of Simple Techniques for High Altitude Wind Measurement Using A Kite / 以風箏量測海域高空風場技術之探討

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 輪機工程系 / 101 / Global wind power reached 239 GW in 2011 which is approximately 3% of total
world energy used. Today the importance of development in offshore wind is no less
than that on land. The importance of siting for offshore wind park therefore makes the
techniques and applications for wind assessment even important. This study combined
market-available kites with recordable anemometer to develop a simple method used
for high-altitude wind measuring. With relatively low cost, the developed method
easily and successfully recorded wind velocity at different altitudes under certain
conditions. The most effective measurement is around 3 m/s throughout the
experiments. This thesis also summarized the most suitable types of kite and the skills
of deploying the kite with instruments obtained from our experiences which may be
beneficial for further studies.
