By the influence of the national consciousne and the rise of jazz music, contemporary american composers began to search for the native music in their land, initiatng a new manner that differs from Europe Tradition.George Geshwin, who grew up in this atmosphere, combined classical and popular music, creating a unique and popular music style which was also being brought into the concert hall.
Gershwin’s three well-known piano preludes have been performed in many recitals, and the other violinist Heifetz also made transcription for these pieces. There are seven chapters in this paper. In the fist chapter, it presents research mototive and purpose and literature review. In the second chapter, there is exploration for lives of Gershwin and Heifetz and their music style. In the third chapter, it explains about background history of creation of three violin preludes. In the fourth chapter, there are discussion of music form and material about theses pieces , and the way Heifetz transcribed. In the fifth chapter, it presents music analysis and performance interpretation of these preludes. In the sixth chapter, there is a comprehensive comparison of five violin performers' recordings of this piece. The senventh Chapter is conclusion.
