碩士 / 國立臺北教育大學 / 特殊教育學系碩士班 / 101 / The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of aquatics activities on static balance of young children with cerebral palsy. This research was based on single-subject research designs of withdrawal design. This study participant with cerebral palsy of age 5 years and 6 months old, who was found at early childhood special education of elementary school in Taipei. The independent variable was the aquatics activities design. The dependent variables were static balance ability of advantages one leg standing with eye-opened , nondominant one leg standing with eye-opened, advantages one leg standing with eye-closed, nondominant one leg standing with eye-closed. The experiment of this research is composed of three periods, the baseline period, the intervention period, and the maintenance period. The observation analysis method and simplified time-series analysis are used to examine the collected data for evaluatin the effect of aquatics activities on static balance of young children with cerebral palsy. Interviews with participant’ caregiver and his teacher were used for demonstrating the social validity of this research. Four findings emerged from this study:
(1) Aquatics activities on " advantages one leg standing with eye-opened " ability of children with cerebral palsy to have immediate effect and maintain effect.
(2) Aquatics activities on " nondominant one leg standing with eye-opened " ability of children with cerebral palsy to have immediate effect and maintain effect.
(3) Aquatics activities on " advantages one leg standing with eye-closed " ability of children with cerebral palsy to have immediate effect and maintain effect.
(4) Aquatics activities on " nondominant one leg standing with eye-closed " ability of children with cerebral palsy to have immediate effect and maintain effect.
