碩士 / 國立臺北大學 / 犯罪學研究所 / 101 / This research aims to analyze factors related to organization performance in maritime patrol directorate general, coast guard vessel teams; factors include organizational climate, the reward and punishment system, member commitment, peer pressure, type of work, and leader style. One team was evaluated as one of the best in terms of teamwork over the previous three years and the other was one of the worst. Surveys were distributed to 226 members of the two teams.
The research found that there is a wide range of factors that affect the coast guard law enforcement team performance; these differ greatly from land law enforcement on maritime zone patrol specialties. It was found that the team’s promotion system (changing ways to reward as an incentive), leadership styles (talent and intelligence in particular),have a significant influence in promoting team performance. However, other factors have no significant influence. This research suggests that reforms regarding the incentive compensation system should be carried out. As for leader selection, the candidates should undergo a variety of training and after internship receive evaluation for appointment in order to enhance the team morale of the Coastal Guard Vessel Team and vessel leader quality.
