碩士 / 國立虎尾科技大學 / 資訊管理研究所 / 101 / This study was focused on the applications of brain-computer interface (BCI) to control electronic self-propelled vehicle for severing physical disabilities. Based on the equipment and background knowledge currently used, the analysis was collected from literature search and intended to solve the problems from literatures through simulation. In this study, a system to control the electronic self-propelled vehicle by detecting status of brain wave has been developed. In the process, the signals of brain wave from the brain-wave device are transmitted to mobile devices by Bluetooth and then these singles are then processed and analyzed for deciding the commends to the self-propelled vehicle. While any of commends is decided, it will be sent to the vehicle so that the vehicle can act based on the given commend. Besides the brain wave signals, the signal of user’s blink can also be detected for controlling the vehicle. The function of blink signals is used as the operation modes of the vehicle, which include the forward, stop, right turn and left turn. While the control mode has been decided, then the activation mode will then be activated by strength of user’s attention detected by brain waves. In this study, the experimental results show that the proposed method can be feasible and can be further developed as the electronic wheel chair for serving those who are physical disabilities.
