The Impact of Foreign Investment and Diversification on the Efficiency Performance / 海外投資暨多角化成長策略與企業經營效率之研究

碩士 / 靜宜大學 / 企業管理學系 / 100 / Oversea investment and diversification are the two of the important ways for corporation growth. The statistic from Investment Commission shows that the foreign investment of Electronic Parts and Components Manufacturing is occupied up to 44.5% of the total amount of Taiwanese businessmen’s foreign investment from 2000 to 2010. Therefore, it can be concerned that investing abroad is critical for manufacturers. This study employs Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to establish an overall operational efficiency structure of multiple inputs and outputs, and obtaining the annual report for Semiconductor Packaging companies from 2000 to 2010 on Market Observation Post System. Moreover, we choose the affiliated business groups as our survey objects, and apply the two-stage DEA model and single stage models to evaluation. Throughout the empirical research, the consequence of oversea investment, diversifying development, and the outcome of each business strategy that both A and B corporation used. The subsystem one that the group B is more efficiency; but when it comes to the financial strategy part from subsystem two, Group A seems doing better at financial performance. Because of the above two-stage DEA empirical research, this reach going deeper into the single stage models examination. Although group A doesn’t being proactive in oversea investment, but as the financial performance report does show better outcomes, in another words, business group A has a better financial performance, compare to active business group B.
