SCUBA divers’attitude and leisure acknowledgement towards diving activities-The case study of Peng-Hu Islands / 水肺潛水者對潛水活動的休閒認知與態度之研究-以澎湖群島為例

碩士 / 世新大學 / 觀光學研究所(含碩專班) / 101 / Taiwan is surrounded by sea waters from all sides, which is advantageous for it to develop maritime recreational industries, and with the increase of needs in leisure and tourism for the people, maritime recreational activities have gradually become the major activity items of sight-seeing and tourism. Through the following topics like the leisure acknowledgement of diving activities, the leisure attitude of diving activities, the acknowledgement of diving fields, the acknowledgement of related laws and regulations, and the safety attitude of diving activities, it can be investigated that whether Scuba diving activities have impacts on Peng-Hu Islands. This research is based on qualitative research , and the researcher began with setting up the leisure acknowledgement and attitude of diving activities as its structural mode, and then further investigated the results of the acknowledgement and attitude held by Scuba divers towards leisure diving.
This Peng-Hu targeted at the Scuba divers engaging in diving activities in Peng-Hu Islands as its subjects of interviews, and after taking advantage of the in-depth interview mode, the researcher gathered the outcomes of 25 interviewees.
The researcher practically distributed the effective questionnaires; after taking the methods of in-depth interview, practical observation, reference document analysis and phenomenology so as to gather useful information, and proceeding with carefully extracting, re-arranging and analyzing the information, the researcher of this research “The research of SCUBA divers’ attitude and leisure acknowledgement towards diving activities--taking the Peng-Hu Islands as an example” eventually obtained the results of empirical analysis.
From the empirical outcomes, the researcher found that Scuba divers all have sound concepts to leisure diving, diving fields and categories of diving, which proves the popularizing of promoting diving activities in Taiwan area; however, the arrangements of locations for diving spots would be affected by diving coaches. The ideal diving spots in the minds of Scuba divers would primarily be Ken-Ting or Lung-Dong while the Peng-Hu Islands has been deemed the best diving activity field for hunting divers. Scuba divers and diving business operators would not change their attitude towards diving safety or running business just because they dive in different fields or run business with different styles. Scuba divers hold controversial opinions against whether they can carry spear guns while diving.
Hope that the government officials in charge of the pertinent business can learn Scuba diving so as to understand what kinds of safety facilities for diving are needed to improve diving activities. Scuba diving activities can not only prompt the eco-friendly sight-seeing and leisure industries but also increase the employment opportunities around the maritime recreational activity fields. Whether Peng-Hu County Government can actively develop the worldwide trend of diving activities is a very important issue and test to the Peng-Hu Islands.
