碩士 / 淡江大學 / 中國大陸研究所碩士班 / 101 / In recent years, more and more Taiwanese students go to mainland China for studying, and the number of total students is increasing rapidly. Until now, the number of Taiwanese students who graduated from schools in China is nearly 20, 000. Among them, the number of students who have a specialty in traditional Chinese medicine is over 8,000 people. Traditional Chinese medicine is the most popular specialty for Taiwanese students to study in mainland China. But, these students who paid high intuition and spend their youth time in studies face the difficulties of employment and surviving when they come back to Taiwan because Taiwanese education system didn’t admit the license of Chinese doctor and the diploma of traditional Chinese medicine that they got in mainland China.
This study focuses on the influence of traditional Chinese medicine on Taiwanese students. An object of study is the Taiwanese students in the University of Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine. By interviewing with them, the relative data of this study is presented. The key point is to interpret the motives from Taiwanese students to study traditional Chinese medicine in mainland China. From the interviews, these Taiwanese students show their motives and goals of studying. Making using of the interviews, this study also analyses the lesson content of traditional Chinese medicine in mainland China.
