碩士 / 國立臺南藝術大學 / 音像紀錄與影像維護研究所 / 101 / Taiwan is surrounded by sea, but Taiwanese don't really understand the sea. The only value of the sea to us are nothing but sea foods.
Because of summer camp in Kuroshio(NGO) in 2007,I had a chance to proceed sea,to observe of cetaceans, and to learn symbiotic with sea, although I am just a graduated student.
After the summer camp , I decided spend more time in Kuroshio(NGO) to learn how to tell stories about sea and dolphins as narrators did. Furthermore,I want to learn how to influence other whale watching people to feel the connection between themselves and sea or environment. So when they go back to their daily life, they can do something to protect natural environment spontaneously.
Kuroshio Ocean Education Foundation training narrators cooperated with the Turumoan whale watching company since 1998, they make the quality of whale watching better than others and cetacean ecology observation records at the whale watching ship. They also training narrators from summer camps member who interested, this work surmount the traditional fishing work male only phenomenon inadvertently.
“Letters of the Sea” was letters to the sea and dolphins written by narrators and summer camp members. The story is about their action caring of environment wherein dolphins live.
