碩士 / 臺北巿立體育學院 / 競技運動訓練研究所 / 101 / Purpose: Purpose of the study was to explore the differences of sport competitive anxiety between senior high school and collegiate rowing athletes with different variables. Methods: Participants who were investigated with questionnaires were senior high school rowing athletes registered in 2013 national high school rowing tournament and current collegiate rowing athletes. Participants included 177 students (123 males and 54 females) with the mean age of 18.6 ± 2 years old. SPSS for Windows 12.0 was used for data analyses that independent t-test and one-way ANOVA were utilized to compare differences of competitive anxiety with different variables (gender, education, national team experience, training experience). Results: No significant gender difference in competitive anxiety was found for both pre and during the game (p>.05). High school participants were found to have significant higher pre-game anxiety than collegiate participants (p<.05), while no significant difference was found during the game (p>.05). No significant differences were found between participants with and without national team experience for both pre and during the game (p>.05). Participants with training experience under 1 year were found to have significant higher pre-game anxiety than participants with training experience under 4 years, under 7 years, and above 7 years (p<.05), while no significant difference was found during the game among participants with different training experience (p>.05). Conclusion: Sport psychology counseling should be applied to rowing athletes with higher competitive anxiety during training and game seasons for decreasing anxiety and enhancing athletic performance. Future studies should focus on potential factors for improving rowing performance.
