Patent Analysis of Electronic Industry in Taiwan:A Case Study of Hon Hai, TSMC, and HTC / 台灣電子產業的專利分析探討- 以鴻海、台積電、宏達電為例

碩士 / 長榮大學 / 企業管理學系碩士班 / 102 / This research collects and categorizes the patents of Foxconn Technology Group (Hon Hai), Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and HTC Corporation (HTC) during the period from October 2009 to December 2012 by the "Taiwan Patent Search" system.And further employs social network analysis and citation analysis to depict the network map to understand the trend of R&D in Taiwanese electronic industry.
The findings show that:
1. The number of patents of Hon Hai were 5058 during this period:the top five patents, electrical connector (789 piece), electrical card connector (161 piece), cable connector assembly(117 piece),
electrical connector assembly(78 piece) and card edge connector(49 piece), are in the most intensive area of the network, and can be classified into the "process innovation";
2. The number of patents of TSMC were 480: the top five patents,semiconductor device and fabrication method thereof(10 piece),semiconductor structure(9 piece), resolving pattern-loading issues of sige stressor(7 piece), semiconductor device(6 piece),semiconductor device and fabricating method thereof(6 piece) ,are in the most intensive area of the network, and can be classified into the "process innovation";
3. The number of patents of HTC were 272: the top five patents,mobile phone(27 piece), handheld electronic device(12 piece),handheld electronic device(11 piece), electronic device(10 piece),a portable electronic device(9 piece), are in the most intensive area of the network, and can be classified into the " product innovation".
