碩士 / 長榮大學 / 航運管理研究所 / 102 / In this paper, environmental management and supply chain management (SCM) theories are adopted as the research basis. This study empirically examines the implementation of green supply chain management and green performance in container shipping industry. Research framework contains three major latent dimensions “internal green practices, external green collaboration, and green performance”. The questionnaire was adapted from the relevant literature and experts’ interview. SPSS statistical software is applied to assess the degree of green supply chain management implementation and green performance in the container shipping industry. Factor analysis extracted six factors and named as: “internal green practices (green policy, green shipping, and green marketing)”, “external green collaboration (green collaboration with partners, green collaboration with customers)”, and “green performance (reduction of pollutants, green brand image)”.
In addition, a structural equation modeling (SEM) approach was employed to test the research hypotheses. Results indicated that internal green practices has positive effects on green performance, whereas external green collaboration also has a positive influence on green performance. In addition, internal green practices has a positive influence on external green collaboration. Finally, the conclusions, managerial implications and suggestion for further research are discussed.
