Comparative Study of Various Offshore wind farms using different transmission by Using Steady-State and Dynamic Analyses / 離岸風場採用不同傳輸方式下穩態及動態之研究分析

碩士 / 國立高雄應用科技大學 / 電機工程系博碩士班 / 102 / The electrical systems are needed for offshore wind farms to collect power from wind turbines and transmit it to grid will be significant for a wind farm planning. A large-scale offshore wind farm may be designed with different transmission method, which would cause different costs, efficiency and reliability. This thesis presents different transmission method for a real offshore wind farm 201.6MW planning in Penghu and analyzes their advantages and disadvantages from the system point of view. The impact of a large-scale offshore wind farm integration into AC grids by means of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) and high-voltage alternating current (HVAC) will be investigated in the dissertation based on an actual Penghu offshore wind farm and Taiwan grid. In general, an offshore wind farm linking to AC grid could be HVAC, line commutated converter (LCC) or voltage source converter (VSC) based on HVDC or random combination of two of them Additionally, the wind farm configuration with/without the offshore substation was also considered. Next, various steady-state and dynamic power system analyses were implemented to evaluate the performance for different wind farm configurations. These analyses included steady-state operation voltage, transmission losses, fault current, system contingency, wind speed variation, and short circuit fault. The results of the dissertation could provide a reference for offshore wind farm planning in the future
