A Research on PRC's Strategy of East China Sea based on Offensive Realism / 從攻勢現實主義論中共之東海戰略

碩士 / 國立政治大學 / 行政管理碩士學程 / 102 / The approval and validation of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and the discovery of undersea resources had brought about the conflict between People's Republic of China (PRC) and its neighboring countries. As PRC's power rises, the conflict becomes worse. To erase other country's anxiety of China threat, PRC used to take an defensive strategy toward sovereignty dispute of East China Sea after PRC carried reform and opening-up policy. But it appears that PRC had changed its strategy into offensive toward sovereignty dispute since 2010.
As a result, this research applies offensive realism as analytical framework and views the case of PRC's reaction toward Japan on the sovereignty dispute of East China Sea recently, which tries to find out whether the assumption that potential hegemony will gain more power than that can ensure its security and at last challenge the hegemony in existence is true or not.
