The Analyses of Green-shipping and Operating-cost for Contaienr Shipping Industries: the Case of ECNA Routes / 綠色航運結合營運成本之探討─以北美東岸航線為例

碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 航運管理研究所 / 102 / The current global warming caused the greenhouse effect and climate change issues are increasing year by year. Marine transportation produced a lot of pollution, it is one of the culprits causing the whole warming. The purpose of this study is to investigate and compare the traditional U.S East coast via the Panama Canal and West to the East coast via Suez Canal routes of emission reduction; and compare the total costs of shipping. In addition, the paper will discuss the usage of green energy alternatives LNG shipping strategy to compare different emission reduction effect of the North American East Coast and cost advantages.Approach taken in this paper through the ships’ total volume of sewage generated by operating activities calculated to produce between Asia and North America East Coast pollution emissions and fuel costs, and then for subsequent analysis and comparison. This study found that regardless of total pollution emissions, fuel cost and other aspects of view, traditional East to the ECNA routes to the mode of operation of the Suez Canal is better than the West. In addition, when marine bunker fuel oil HO to LNG, calculated in this paper will be able to reduce emissions of CO2, NOX and HC, PM & SO emissions can be reduced more ,also fuel operating costs will be decreased by about 44%, this proves that LNG was more clean and economical energy than HO. The results of this research are available for shipping companies to develop energy conservation and route configuration.
