Impact of Recreational Diving Participants on Dive Briefing and Risk Management : A Case Study in Kenting / 休閒潛水參與者對潛水計畫簡報、潛水風險管理之研究-以墾丁為例

碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 海洋事務與產業管理碩士學位學程 / 102 / This study aimed to investigate the recreational diving participants' perceptions of diving plan briefing and diving risk management in the Kenting area. Three hundred qualified scuba divers were the subjects of the study. Self-created "basic information of personal diving activity," "the scale of the diving plan briefing of the recreational diving activities in Kenting area," and "the scale of diving risk management of the recreational diving activities in Kenting area" were the research tool and questionnaires were distributed. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were adopted for data analysis. The following conclusions were obtained:
A. In Kenting area, the recreational diving participants' background variables showed that there were more males than females, age focusing on 21 to 30 years old, mostly educated to tertiary level, and mostly student-oriented occupations. Most participants received the license of Openwater Diver, mainly issued by CMAS. Most participants used from 1-20 gas bottles as cylinders when diving.
B. Analysis of the diving plan briefing given in Kenting area to the recreational diving participants
1. In the diving plan briefing program given in Kenting area, "3. emergency procedures" in the "risk control" facet had the highest mean, followed by "12.residual pressure convention " in the "presentation content" facet; " 6.modes of transportation" in the "risk control" had the lowest mean.
2. As for the diving plan briefing, the analysis of the Kenting area recreational diving participants' different backgrounds showed significant differences in ages, levels of diving license, and numbers of gas bottles.
C. Analysis of diving risk management of the recreational diving participants in Kenting area
1. In Kenting area, among all the dimensions of diving risk management, the mean value of "16. dangerous diving area" in the "external risks" facet was the highest, followed by "7. education and training" in the "self-management" facet; "6 .nosebleeds" in the "potential risk" had the lowest mean.
2. As for the diving risk management, the analysis of the Kenting area recreational diving participants' different backgrounds showed significant differences in ages and the authorities issuing the licenses.
D. Correlation between diving plan briefings and diving risk management of the recreational diving participants
The research data showed that diving plan briefing was positively correlated with diving risk management. The relationship between risk control in the diving plan briefing facet and potential risks in the diving risk management facet were also highly correlated. So the more detailed the diving plan briefing was, the easier it was to manage the diving risks.
