The activities included data collecting tasks consisting of videotaping the teaching, human rights news clippings, human rights weekly journals, and the observation journals and inspirations of the teachers; and the data analysis process focused on the language and behaviors of students. The data have been analyzed and coded after compilation and transcription, in order to be utilized for the research of human rights topic teaching activities to children.
By the content of the analysis, the results of the research are concluded as the following:
In terms of curriculum design, increase the teaching regarding “Convention on the Rights of the Child ” in order to provide an opportunity to the students for further explorations. Based on the feedback of the students, develop the interest of students toward human rights issues.
In terms of growth of the Students, understand the dignity and rights should be obtained when born as a human being, and the universal value and inalienability of human rights that should be worked on among human rights issues. Voicing for the rights of oneself and minorities is the drive of the social improvement and peace. However, the key of the success to this drive depends on the support and participation from more citizens. The students have seen many other kids with their ages but with different lives, so the students might expect themselves to help these miserable kids to strive together.
In terms of growth of the Teachers, the concepts of teachers toward human rights education lead the approaches of the development of their human rights lessons. Teachers shall rethink their approaches after a while of the human rights education implementation, to review if their personal ideas suit the objectives of the human rights education. Be compassionate to the students, extend the human rights ideas taught in the classroom to the real life, and treat the students humanely as they deserve.
