碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 水產養殖學系 / 102 / This thesis contains two parts. One is to monitor released Oncorhynchus masou formosanus to justify the habitat condition of those released streams. The second part is a brief review through the collection and arrangement of the government organization’s data pertaining to the management strategies for the conservation of this endangered species in the past 80 years.
The population structure of fish in Lo-Ye-Wei Creek had reached a stabilized society with a percentage of 2+ (28 %)、1+ (2011 wild born,60 %) and 0+ (2012 wild born,12 %) upon the total number of 462 fish’s census in April 2013. Investigation of fish population number in Yousheng stream of downstream of Lo-Ye-Wei Creek is 124, 4 times than before, which implied that the population in Lo-Ye-Wei Creek kept moving to downstream. Lo-Ye-Wei Creek could be a suitable habitat in population number and structure than other creeks. No fish populations were discovered in Su-Jie-Lan Creek during 2013.
Factorial responses of specific growth rate (SGR) and condition factor (CF) were analyzed according to the three main factors, reason (High, Low), age (2+, 1+, 0+), site (H, L, S).
The averaged SGR values told the general conclusions of the four main effect described below. It was found that fish grew faster during the high temperature season than the low temperature season. Fish grew faster in 0+ than in 1+, and those in 2+ grew the slowest. Fish grew faster in hatchery than in Lo-Ye-Wei Creek, and those in Su-Jie-Lan Creek grew the slowest. CF analysis had found that the high temperature season was higher than the low temperature season. Ages are better in 1+ than in 2+, and it is the worst in 0+. Sits are hatchery better than Su-Jie-Lan Creek, and Lo-Ye-Wei Creek is the worst.
Taiwan salmon had been announced by the contemporary ruling government of Japan in 1938 as a natural souvenir. Not until the year of 1977, the conservation works had been neglected under the ruling government of the Republic of China, law and regulation for the conservation of this fish was established then. Through the conservation work from the government and the conservationists, the successful re-habitation of Taiwan salmon in 2009 to a historical creek, the Lo-Ye-Wei creek, was a milestone in the Taiwan salmon conservation history. The conservation work could not be completed without the efforts of systematic cooperation through governments, scholars, media and civilians.
