The systematics and molecular phylogeny of sandperches (Family:Pinguipedidae) in Taiwan / 臺灣海域產擬鱸科魚類分類親緣關係之研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 海洋生物研究所 / 102 / The fishes of sandperches ( Family Pinguipedidae ) are known as the belong to class Actinopterygii, subclass Neopterygii order Perciformes, suborder Trachinoidei. They live mainly on sandy or sand-rubble areas; and they are usually carnivorous, feeding principally on benthic crustaceans, especially crabs and shrimps, occasionally on small fishes. The sandperch Family Pinguipedidae comprises 7 genera and 83 valid species. A total of 25 valid species of the Parapercis and in family Pinguipedidae has been recorded in Taiwanese waters.
This research focus on all available Pinguipedidae species (comprises 25 species ) collected from Taiwan. There are 1 undescribed new species, 1 new species: Parapercis dongsharensis and 2 newly recorded species:Parapercis okamurai, P. pacifica. The molecular phylogenetic approach has been conducted by 3 fragments of partial sequences of mtDNA ND5 ( 903bp ), COI ( 612bp ), and 12SrRNA ( 985bp ) genes. The results of 3 genetic marked phylogenetic analysis revealed 6 groups on Parapercis species. They are (1) Parapercis sexfasciata, P. lutevittata;(2) P. tetracantha, P. kamoharai, P. pacifica, P. tetracantha, P. xanthozona;(3) P. schauinslandi, P. snyderi;(4) P. okamurai, P. striolata;(5) P. kentingensis, P. shaoi;(6) P. macrophthalma, P. multifasciata, P. decemfasciata.
The overall major topology of moleculor phylogenetic tree can be correlated to the different coloration patterns, cephalic sensory pores and proportion of eyes diameter of the sandperches.
