Using remote sensing of sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a concentration to explore habitat of yellowfin tuna in the Tropical Western Pacific Ocean / 利用衛星遙測探討熱帶西太平洋黃鰭鮪分布與海表溫及葉綠素甲濃度的關係

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 海洋環境資訊系 / 102 / In this study, the sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a concentration (Chl-a) from satellite Terra Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) during 2002-2011, and the catch per unit effort (CPUE) of longline fishery of yellowfin tuna from the secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) were analyzed to research the relation among the habitat of yellowfin tuna, SST, and Chl-a in tropical western Pacific Ocean. In addition, how the El Ni#westeur050#o/La Ni#westeur050#a event to affect the yellowfin tuna migration, the Oceanic Ni#westeur050#o Index (ONI) was also taken into consideration to compare the hook rate and gravity center of CPUE zonal movement of yellowfin tuna. It was found that the most yellowfin tuna fishery CPUE happens in July with SST=29℃±0.5℃and Chl-a=0.05mg/m3~0.1mg/m3. Meanwhile, the most CPUE is in the ocean near Soloman islands, South East of Papua , New Guinea, and the coral reef in North East of Australia. Because of El Ni#westeur050#o/La Ni#westeur050#a event, the yellowfin tuna hook rate and gravity center of CPUE zonal movement were shifted eastward/westward, which occurred about 1 to 4 months after El Ni#westeur050#o/La Ni#westeur050#a event.
