Analytical Utilization of AIS data in Estimating Fuel Consumption and Shipping Emission / 使用AIS估算船舶油耗與空汙排放量之研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 通訊與導航工程學系 / 102 / Facing the problem of climate change caused by the global warming, countries all over the world pay more attention to the emissions control of greenhouse gases. Especially, because of burning heavy fuel, there are a lot of greenhouse gases contained in the ship power engine operating discharges while sailing and transporting. Depending on the ship information provided by the Automatic Identification System (AIS), this study firstly use the ship speed to determine the activity state of the ship. Then, fix the time interval of activity to solve the data missing caused by insufficient covering. Finally, combine with parameters of a ship engine, this method can simulate and estimate the fuel consumption and air pollutant emission of a ship within 20 nautical miles centered by each port in Taiwan.
From the analysis of real data, even with the same ship voyage but in different time, seasons, wind, currents (including the tidal, coastal current, Kuroshio, etc.) and other factors such as the ship's trim and drafts may make the fuel consumption different. Through comparing with the real data, the average error rate of fuel consumption estimated with our model is 5.88%. It is proved that our model has the value of referential to estimate the fuel consumption.
