Factors to Influence Willingness of Shipping Companies to Implement Green Shipping Measures / 影響船舶運送業執行綠色航運措施意願之研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 航運管理學系 / 102 / International shipping is facing a new and complex environment that involves both challenges and opportunities, including the demand and supply mismatch, continued global economic uncertainty and geopolitical tensions, etc. Of all prevailing challenges, however, the interconnected issues of energy security and costs, climate change and environmental sustainability are perhaps the most unsettling. The pollution and waste generated in the shipping processes have imposed environmental burdens and accelerated resource depletion. Environmental protection and resource conservation have been widely discussed by business and political leaders. Many shipping companies have begun to respond to environmental concerns by embracing green shipping practices. The highlights in marine sector focus on the reduction of energy consumption and air emissions; the IMO has also been in commitment to improve the problem of mass emission of Greenhouse gas causing by marine sector.

This research focuses to analyze the willingness of shipping companies to implement green shipping measures(GSPs) by using empirical data; it will also study the implication of GSPs and its performance, the future mandated provisions, and the willingness of shipping firms.
